Effects
Many devastating long terms effects happened on Christmas Day 1974. Thousands of lives were changed forever on that day. 41,000 of 47,000 Darwin residents were left homeless and 71 people lost their lives. On Christmas Day well over 500 people were treated in hospital. 6 years after the devastating Cyclone Tracy 60% of the residents who survived the intense cyclone had left Darwin. Some effects weren't life changing but others will always be remembered by the survivors of the cyclone.
